As聽France鈥檚 first聽host of the complete聽Visual History Archives聽of the聽Shoah Foundation聽(a collection of over 53,000 testimonies in 39 languages from 62 countries of survivors and witnesses to the Shoah and the Armenian, Rwandan and Nanjing genocides), The American University of Paris will make this important resource available to researchers, teachers and students for the purpose of investigating and disseminating new insights into the origins of collective hatred, fundamentalist ideologies, discrimination and mass violence as well as the aftereffects of these in historical, social and individual memory.

Our goal is to foster scholarly convocation, in France and internationally, via conferences, lectures, and publication, on the ways that individuals, communities and governments can respond to the challenges of extreme violence in the service of enduring peace and understanding.
