GIVERNY & AUVERS-SUR-OISE

Claude Monet's House | 95430 Giverny & Auvers-sur-Oise | 95430 Giverny
Saturday, June 16, 2018 - 07:00 to 21:00

The serene landscape and constantly changing patterns of light along the Seine were a major source of inspiration for the many 19th century artists drawn to this region. In the morning, travel by bus from Paris to Auvers-sur-Oise, a picturesque village and surrounding countryside, including the Oise River, were sources of inspiration for artists in the Impressionist circle.  Auvers is also the final resting place of Vincent Van Gogh where you can see his grave and home. After exploring Auvers, continue to Giverny to enjoy a 3-course lunch and visit the Musée des Impressionnismes for a guided tour of their current exhibition. Last stop in Giverny is the Fondation Monet to visit the residence where Claude Monet lived for over forty years. The world-famous gardens, restored to their original glory, were Monet's passion. See the setting that inspired the famous Water Lily paintings and visit the artist's home, where you will experience his eccentric taste in decoration and an impressive collection of Japanese prints is on display. Expect to return to Paris in the evening.

Minimum: 18 participants.
Maximum: 35 participants.
Cost: € 100 (includes private coach transportation, 3-course lunch, entrance fees, and guided visit of current exhibition at the Musée des Impressionismes).
