Daniel Hahn Appointed to Inaugural Paris Writer鈥檚 Residency

The American University of Paris, the University of Kent Paris School of Arts and Culture and the Centre Culturel Irlandais (Irish Arts Centre) are pleased to announce that Daniel Hahn has been appointed to the first Paris Writer鈥檚 Residency. We look forward to welcoming him to Paris to work with our students and to join our wonderful community of writers.

The inaugural residency includes accommodation at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in the heart of Paris鈥檚 Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement). Over the residency, Hahn will interact with undergraduate Creative Writing students at 91视频, have a full day with postgraduates in the Creative Writing program at the Kent Paris School of Arts and Culture and host a reading at the Centre Culturel Irlandais.

Daniel Hahn is a writer, editor and translator with more than fifty books to his name. His work has won him the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, the International Dublin Literary Award and the Blue Peter Book Award. He has been shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize and the LA Times Book Awards. His recent books include the new Oxford Companion to Children's Literature and a co-translation of a Guatemalan novel. He is a past chair of the Society of Authors (the UK鈥檚 writers鈥 union) and currently on the board of a number of organizations that work with literature and free expression.
