University Room: Omid & Gisel Kordestani Rooftop Conference Center (Q-801)
Tuesday, October 15, 2019 - 18:30

Join us as we celebrate two new publications from Professors Oliver Feltham and Julian Culp of the Philosophy Department.

Professor聽 Steven Sawyer and Dr Chiara Destri (Sciences Po) will be speaking with the authors about the books followed by a general Q & A, wine and cheese.

Democratic Education in a Globalized Wold:聽A Normative Theory

鈥淚n this important new book, Julian Culp argues against methodological nationalism in education and defends both a cosmopolitan right to democratic education and educational reforms enabling genuinely transnational processes of opinion formation.鈥

- Lea Ypi, Professor in Political Theory, Department of Government, London School of Economics and Political Science, UK

Destroy and Liberate:聽Political Action on the Basis of Hume

鈥淥liver Feltham has again demonstrated the potential of a historicisation of the foundational concepts of political philosophy for rethinking politics beyond neoliberalism.鈥

- Geoff Boucher, Associate Professor in Literary Studies, Deakin University, Australia
