In association with SPRINT, a non-profit organization of educational and therapeutic services for English-speaking children and families in Paris, the Psychology Department at 91视频 will be organizing a special evening workshop and information event open to all 91视频 students, staff and faculty. External guests are welcome but they must RSVP by February 29.
An learning support specialist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Tracy Coutrix, and Psychomotor Therapist and educational psychologist, Kinga Coubard, will lead an introductory and early training session on the roles and duties of learning support assistants. Learning support assistants play a very important role in children's access to an inclusive and fair education.
Learning Support Assistants support the pupil, the teacher, and the school aiding the students to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/her own. They work with children with special needs (developmental, physical, or emotional) in and out of the classroom.
This special session will cover the basic roles of learning support assistants, cover some key techniques and strategies to work with children with a variety of special needs, and explain how to potentially work as a learning support assistant in the Paris region. It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in education, clinical psychology or counseling, and other related fields.
